According to the research ,the residence time of melt in its slipping section has a relation of exponential decay  with its  relaxation time ratio and extrusion swell  ratio.Its mathematical relation  can be expressed by  this equation  B=Ae-t/r(A≈0.2~0.8).In fact ,melt in the slipping section is in the process of deformation decay.Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation match  well,so the equation can be used as a  guidence in the design of gas-assisted dies
