Peer Review Policy for Journals of Elsevier The practice of peer review is to ensure that good science is published. It is an objective process at the heart of good scholarly publishing and is carried out on all reputable scientific journals. Our referees therefore play a vital role in maintaining the high standards and all manuscripts are peer reviewed following the procedure outlined below. 同行评审制度可以有效地保证杂志发表文章的高质量，其大致程序如下： Special issues and/or conference proceedings may have different peer review procedures involving, for example, Guest Editors, conference organisers or scientific committees. Authors contributing to these projects may receive full details of the peer review process on request from the editorial office. 杂志编辑部对于不同类别的稿件所需审稿人可能会有其特定的要求。 1、Initial manuscript evaluation The Editor first evaluates all manuscripts. It is rare, but it is entirely feasible for an exceptional manuscript to be accepted at this stage. Those rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal. Those that meet the minimum criteria are passed on to at least 2 experts for review. 第一步：初审：编辑负责。主要考察稿件的科研水平、英语的语言水平以及是否符合杂志研究领域的要求。很少有稿件会在这一步骤里就直接接收了。 Authors of manuscripts rejected at this stage will be informed within 2 weeks of receipt. 没有通过编辑初审的稿件会在投稿后2周内收到拒稿通知。 2、Type of Peer Review Journal employs single blind review, where the referee remains anonymous throughout the process. 第二步：审稿人审阅：采用匿名制 How the referee is selected Referees are matched to the paper according to their expertise. Our database is constantly being updated; we welcome suggestions for referees from the author though these recommendations may or may not be used. 根据稿件的研究方向，编辑部会从专家库中指定审稿人，当然作者自己也可以指定，但是编辑部未必会采纳。 3、Referee reports Referees are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript: - Is original - Is methodologically sound - Follows appropriate ethical guidelines - Has results which are clearly presented and support the conclusions - Correctly references previous relevant work 第三步：审稿意见：审稿人主要从稿件的原创性、实验设计的合理性、是否符合伦理道德要求、实验数据的可信性、引用前人工作的正确性等方面全面考察评估稿件质量 Referees are not expected to correct or copyedit manuscripts. Language correction is not part of the peer review process. 审稿人不负责修改稿件中英文的书写问题 How long does the review process take? Typically the manuscript will be reviewed within 2 months. Should the referees' reports contradict one another or a report is unnecessarily delayed a further expert opinion will be sought. All our referees sign a conflict of interest statement. Revised manuscripts are usually returned to the initial referees within 2 weeks after receipt at the editorial office. Referees may request more than one revision of a manuscript. 一般情况下审稿人需要2个月左右的时间得出审稿意见。如果审稿人意见相左，或者其中一位审稿人无故延误审稿，则还需另外指定新的审稿人重新审阅或仲裁。 4、Final report A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with any recommendations made by the referees, and may include verbatim comments by the referees. 第四步，汇总审稿人意见形成最终决议 5、Editor's Decision is final Referees advise the editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article. 第五步：编辑下通知是接受还是... 希望对大家（尤其是新手）投稿有帮助！ 支持的就顶一个！！  [ Last edited by nxssw on 2008-4-16 at 22:48 ] |
