How bad do you want to be successful
There was a young man，you know，he wanted to make a lot of money so he went to a guru. He told the guru, "I want to be on the same level you're on". So, the guru said, "If you want to be on the same level I'm on, I'll meet you tomorrow at the beach. So the young man got there at 4 A.M., all ready to rock and roll, got a suit but should wear shorts because the old man grabs his hand and says, "How bad do you want to be successful?" He says, "Real bad". "Walk out in the water". So he walks out into the water waist deep but thinking, "This guy must be crazy. I want to make money, he's got me out here swimming! I didn't ask to be a lifeguard!" Guru says, "Come out here a little further". He walks out a bit further, having water around shoulder height. "This old man is crazy. He's making money, but he's crazy". "Come out a little further". He comes out a little further, the water now at his mouth. He turns to go back, thinking, "I'm going back - this guy is out of his mind". The old man says, "I thought you said you wanted to be successful?". He says, "I do!" The old man came over to him, dropped the young man's head in the water, and held it there. The young man started flailing and scratching, but the old man held him down. Just before the young man was about to pass out, the old man raised him up. He said, "I've got a question for you... When you were underwater, what did you want to do?" He replied, "I wanted to breathe". He told the young man, "When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful".

I don’t know how many guys have known of the story in here today, but if you have had the asthma哮喘 before, you shall breathe as so big, the only thing you try to do is to get some air. You don’t care about what’s on tv, you don’t care about nobody call you, you don’t care about a party, the only thing you care about when you try to breathe is to get fresh air, that’s it. When you get the point, when you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, you will be successful. I’m here to tell you number 1，Most people say you want to be successful. You don't want it bad as much as you want to party. You don't want it as much as you want to be cool. Most of you don't want success as much as you want to sleep. Some of you love sleep more than you love success. I’m here to tell you today, If you want to be successful, you've got to be willing to give up sleep. Because If you go to sleep, you might miss the opportunity to be successful ... That's how bad you've got to want it.
Listen to me. You've got to want it so bad that you forget to eat. When 50 Cent was doing his movie, he said that when he wasn't doing the movie, he was making the soundtrack. He was asked, when do you sleep, 50 cent? He said, "Sleep is for those people who are broke. I don't sleep. I've got an opportunity to make a dream become a reality". Most of you won't be successful because when you're studying and get tired, you quit. Don't cry to give up, cry to keep going. You're already in pain. You're already hurt. Get a reward from it. Don't go to sleep until you succeed.

So you thought it was the end of the story. (laughs) So you thought just because the student was willing to be obedient to the guru and not only wake up but meet him at the beach early in the morning. You thought that was enough. [knocking] Ah I got it. So you thought he was willing to walk out to the deep of the ocean that that was enough you because the guru placed his head under the water, pulled it out and taught him that the secret to success is wanting it as bad as you wanna breathe. So you thought that was the end of the story. You thought that one single event that one single moment was enough for him to stand amongst the greats to make his dream become reality. Well you thought wrong. In fact, it’s far from over. That was the easy part.
NOW – Now it’s time to redefine the grind. You thought it was over? Well it’s just getting started. See, this is the part. This is the part where life demands you make a life long commitment, this is the part where life demands that you make a vow come hail or high water, that you’re willing to pay the price the full fare where you earn your spot with effort, with sweat, with blood, with tears. And so you say, you want it as bad as you wanna breathe. Then it’s show time! It’s examination time. It’s time to get tested, to test your will, your endurance, it’s time to test your art, to test your limits. This is the art where you re-invent yourself.
Sleep. I don’t sleep. You thought that was it. It goes deeper than going without sleep because you might miss the opportunity to succeed. No, no, no it’s about no days off – no weekends, no holidays, no birthdays. Listen to me! No days off! No half days! No holidays! No snow day! It’s about gaining the competitive edge. It’s about separation. It’s about separating yourself from the pack, the competition. It’s about being a little faster, a little stronger.
Listen to me. A little faster than you were last year, last month, last week. In fact, you gotta be a little faster today than you were yesterday. And you can’t afford on the road to success, you can’t afford to make excuses. No excuses when you feel pain. And trust me, you will feel it. You gotta go deep deep down, beyond, beyond exhaustion, beyond (a workout) and when it’s harder than you imagined it would be, when it takes longer than you thought it would take and when the load is heavy than you thought you could bare and all you wanna do is give up and all you wanna do is give in, when you feel like you’ve given all you got, you gotta take one more step, you gotta run one more lap.

You gotta throw one more punch and disregard how much more does it take. You gotta fight back. You gotta fight a little harder. You gotta defeat disappointment, annihilate weakness and punish the competition. It’s about pushing yourself beyond the limits. It’s about perfecting the you, not just doing more, not just being better but finding your best. Listen to me. It’s more than you want it so bad than you wanna breathe that’s not enough, you gotta be willing to face every fear, climb every mountain, defy every odd, on-slot every obstacle, one step at a time, one day at a time, until you – only you are left standing – there’s no one else and there’s nothing in your way. Until you reach the top.

As you slowly open your eyes, look around, notice where the light comes into your room, listen carefully, see if there are any new sounds you can recognize; feel with your body and spirit, see if you can sense the freshness in the air.

Yes, yes, yes, it’s a new day, it’s a different day, and it’s a bright day! And most importantly, it is a new beginning for your life, a beginning where you are going to make new decisions, take new actions, make new friends and take your life to a totally unprecedented level.

In your mind’s eye, you can see clearly the things you want to have, the places you intend to go, the relationships you desire to develop, and the positions you aspire to reach. You can hear your laughers of joy and happiness on the day when everything happens as you dream! You can see the smiles on the people around you when the magic moment strikes. You can feel your face is getting red, your heart is beating fast, and your blood is rushing all over your body, to every single corner of your being!

You know all this is real as long as you are confident, passionate, and committed. And you are confident, you are passionate, you are committed! You will no longer fear making new sounds, showing new facial expressions, using your body in new ways, approaching new people, and asking new questions. You will live every single day of your life with absolute passion, and you will show your passion through the words you speak and the actions you take. You will focus all your time and effort on the most important goals of your life. You will never succumb to challenges and hardships; you will never waver in your pursuit of excellence. After all, you are the best, and you deserve the best!

As your coach and friend, I can assure you the door to all the best things in the world will open to you, but the key to that door is in your hand. You must do your part, you must faithfully follow the plans you make and take the actions you plan, you must never quit, you must never fear! I know you must do it, you can do it, you will do it, and you will succeed! Now stand firm and tall, make a fist, get excited and yell it out: I must do it! I can do it! I will do it! I will succeed.
