Dr. Weimin Gao is seeking highly motivated PhD students at The Institute of Environmental and Human Health (TIEHH), Texas Tech University, USA.(http://www.tiehh.ttu.edu/Personnel/Weimin%20Gao/Pages/Weimin-Gao.aspx) Successful candidates are expected to develop a dissertation project that focuses on molecular epidemiology, early detection of cancers, mechanism for carcinogenesis, cancer chemoprevention and therapy, and proteomics and metabolomics. Qualified candidate should have a Master degree (exceptional candidates with an Bachelor degree will also be considered) with research experiences in molecular biology, cellular biology, microbiology, toxicology, biotechnology, biochemistry, preventive medicine, or environmental and occupational Health. Students with interest and research background in disease-related research or medical background are also welcome to apply for his PhD program. The PhD study will be 4 to 5 years with stipend support roughly $17,000 per year plus tuition waiver and benefits. Students without a Master degree may register in a Master program first. It is possible to transfer to a Ph.D. without the completion of Master degree. This transfer is usually considered after about two years based on academic performance. While it is possible for Dr. Gao to consider applications at any time of the year, the earlier you submit your application, the greater chance for receiving the graduate scholarship support.
