Please refer to this attached file. http://muchong.com/bbs/attachment.php?tid=6894703&aid=21439 CSC(China Scholarship Council) Proposal 2014 Compressible viscous flow simulation of collapsing bubbles Abstract: The project is to develop and perform high-performance numerical simulations of collapsing bubbles near surfaces, that are beyond the state-of-the-art. At present, still little is known about the conditions that occur in these flows, which remain difficult to assess experimentally, and notably the formation of shock waves generated by collapsing bubbles. Equally, current computational methods for such systems are very limited, as most compressible codes are for single-phase flows, and most two-phase codes are for incompressible flows,the exceptions being mostly for highly idealized conditions. The project offers opportunities for a talented, motivated student to make a major impact in the general area of compressible two-phase flows and the development of new computational methods for two-phase flows.
