The main advantage of in vivo molecular imaging is its ability to characterize diseased tissues without invasive biopsies or surgical procedures. Molecular imaging can be applied to all avenues of medical imaging: early detection/screening, diagnosis, therapy delivery/monitoring, and treatment follow-up. In this special issue, we take a great interest in studies on molecular imaging. Particularly, papers that deal with functional investigations of molecular imaging are welcome. Cutting-edge reviews relevant to this topic are also considered. This special issue will bring our communities the most recent ideas and advances in this field. Potential topics include, but not limited to: •Molecular magnetic resonance imaging •Optical molecular imaging •PET, CT molecular imaging •Multimodality molecular imaging •Nanotechnology for molecular imaging and targeted therapy Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal¡¯s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/guidelines.
