Research Scientist positions at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore

Position is available on 1st April 2014 for two years. Renewal is subject to the candidates’ performance. Job Description： You will undertake research involving the cloning, overexpression and mass production of fungal proteins in yeasts and filamentous fungi. Your duties will also include the supervision of final year polytechnic research and junior laboratory members. The successful applicant will also be expected to be involved in the preparation of research proposals for grant applications. Requirements: A Ph.D. or research Master degree in microbiology, biological sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related field Experience in gene cloning, expression and transformation of yeasts and filamentous fungi and/or mass culture of filamentous fungi will be an advantage Responsible and results-oriented A track record of independent research A good team player with a positive working attitude Proficiency in English Experience in writing scientific papers and making research presentations.
