波士顿大学医学院招聘公派研究生和访问学者

PREDOCTORAL and POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Hui Feng (lab website: www.bu.edu/zgct) in the Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics and Cancer Center at the Boston University School of Medicine. Our research analyzes clinical patient samples to discover candidate genes and pathways needed for the initiation and progression of MYC-related tumorigenesis. Subsequently we use zebrafish cancer models to functionally validate the role of these candidate genes in tumorigenesis and use human cancer cell lines to evaluate their therapeutic potentials. The cutting-edge approaches routinely used in the laboratory include: analyses of human cancer genomic database, zebrafish genetic and functional studies of candidate genes, and genetic and chemical genetic screens. Small molecules and RNAi are used to inactivate the gene of interest to evaluate the therapeutic potentials on multiple MYC-related cancer cell lines, such as T-ALL, neuroblastoma, and breast cancer cell lines. Our laboratory is happy to provide necessary documentations to facilitate the successful application of the funding from the Chinese Government. The minimal commitment of the training in the laboratory is for two years or more, with the possibility of financial support from the lab starting on the second year. Experiences with molecular biology are essential. Experiences with zebrafish model and cancer biology are preferred but not required.
