[交流] PhD Position in Global Ecology, Remote Sensing, or Ecosystem Modeling

The Earth Systems Research Center, University of New Hampshire (UNH) has an opening for a PhD student position in global ecology, remote sensing, or ecosystem modeling starting in August 2014. This position carries a competitive stipend plus tuition and medical insurance. The PhD student will conduct research in one or more of the following topics related to global ecology: terrestrial carbon dynamics, disturbance impacts, ecosystem modeling, extreme climate events (e.g., drought), data assimilation (model-data fusion), remote sensing, synthesis of FLUXNET and other ecological data, upscaling of FLUXNET data, or other relevant topics.

The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary research team at the Earth Systems Research Center (http://www.csrc.sr.unh.edu/), Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space (EOS; http://www.eos.sr.unh.edu) at UNH, and will also have opportunities to work with collaborators at other institutions. Applicants should be enthusiastic, creative, and highly motivated. A master or bachelor degree in ecology, ecohydrology, meteorology, forestry, agriculture, geography, or a relevant field and experience in global ecology research are desirable.
