Spring couplets-CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR

Spring festivel,also called chinese new year or having “nian”.nian is a beast witch bing disaster to human bings,but it dreads (fear)fire.To cambat the beast ,we have red antithetical couplets on our doors,we set firecracker,we light candles,we hang red lanterns and wait for the new year to come in the belief that the beast fears red and fire. Now,we regard red antithetical couplets as good fortures and call it spring couplets or new year scrolls.doorways and gateposts are pasted with spring couplets with wishs for the new year. Red paper;door god;kitchen god;god of good forture;dumpling…there are many chinese element about spring festivel. the new year is coming,i just want to talk about something in my memery and remember the stoy in the chidrenhood. |
