Have you thought about leaving China?

Smog recently becomes the public focus, and most are seeking for coping strategies. http://muchong.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=6766092&fpage=1 I heard that the houses on mountain are becoming increasingly expensive. Investment on foreign property is on vogue as well. Smog issues aside, there are macro-political environment people are not happy with, healthcare problems remained to be solved, education systems not globally-recognized, and food safety issues, potential risks of war, terrorism and so on. I know many people who express great interest of immigration. Some even do not care which country to immigrate to. Based on my own experience, immigrating to a welfare country is not hard at this stage, basically if you are skilled, experienced and good at English, it is highly likely for you to get a permanent visa. If you have some money to investigate, it is going to be even easier. Still, based on my own experience, for most people successfully immigrating, immigration does not mean a quality of life, but a tough decision. They did not anticipate that for the first several years of permanent visa, there is no such a thing called welfare. Before getting an employment, people either do labor intensive jobs, odd-jobs or gradually consume the money they brought with from China. People in China say labor jobs in foreign countries are always with high pay. I cannot say it is wrong, because for certain professions, it is true. However, "another" truth is that before getting into that industry, you need some qualifications, say university or TAFE certificate. Labors without requirements of qualifications are under-paid, and sometimes these labor jobs are the only choice for fresh immigrants, no matter for professors in China, HR holding high office or highly skilled information and technology technicians. The salary is 40% lower than the legitimate lowest salary, which means it is illegal. For the job market, maybe for the first one year, few immigrants could get a job to their profession. It's not strange after some thinking, if you were the employee, do you want someone who is non-English background without local working experience? Natural environments are something people cannot admire more ![]() What about medicare and education? Yes it's true that most developed countries offer their people a free access to medicare. But I would say it's not a fair access. People with a financially better-off background can always be admitted to hospital ASAP. People who do not have enough money to purchase the expensive private insurance have to wait months before getting the turn to receive surgery (for not urgent cases), even though they are taking a risk. About education, I just say one thing, minority children including Asians and aborigines get bullied. More issues are to be raised, including what to do with our parents, local house price, and tax. Welcome to join the conversation. Feel free to express your concerns ![]() There used to be similar discussions. You can gain some ideas from the previous discussion. http://muchong.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=5842531&target=self&page=1 [ Last edited by Lopemann on 2013-12-18 at 08:48 ] |
