MAJOR AREAS OF RESEARCH INTEREST

• Develop new applications for renewable biopolymer including cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin.  Current on-going studies include using liquefied wood for bio-degradable polyurethane foam and phenol-formaldehyde resin, modification of wood lignin to improve its reactivity at the phenol substitute in phenol-formaldehyde resin synthesis, and modification of cellulosic and lignocellulosic fibers for bio-composite and nano-carbon fiber.

• Develop economical feasible technologies based on hydrothermal and thermochemical treatment of lignocellulosic biomass for integrated biorefineries that co-produce biofuel, biomaterial, and chemicals from renewable resources.

我们专业较小,南林在本专业还是排在前列,是国家重点学科, 江苏省重点优势学科, 各项扶持还比较多. 我目前正在筹集生物资源利用实验室, 有80平米独立实验空间. 热忱欢迎有有机化学合成或高分子背景的学生报考. 交叉学科更容易有好的成果出现!
