Remember the great man and his celebrated dictum. 1. The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. 2. It always seems impossible until it’s done. 3. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. 4. After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. 5. If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner. 6. I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. 7. A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens but its lowest ones. 8. No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. 9. If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart. 10. As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison. |
