Preparation of Monodispersed Eu3+:CaMoO4 Nanocrystals with Single Quasihexagon

Abstract:

This paper reports the preparation of Eu3+:CaMoO4 nanocrystals by the microemulsion-mediated hydrothermal method. The synthesized Eu3+:CaMoO4 nanocrystals were characterized by XRD, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, excitation, and emission spectra. The result shown that Eu3+:CaMoO4 nanocrystals with sizes of 40¨C90 nm exhibited a monodispersed and single quasihexagon. Eu3+:CaMoO4 nanocrystals exhibit a strong red fluorescence at 614 nm. This result may bring opportunity for the development of the other nanocrystals.

Abstract

In satd. Ca(OH)2 solns., CaMoO4 thin films with scheelite structure were prepd. by potentiostatic anode oxidn. method.  The influence of soln. acidity and the method of substrate pretreatment on the film growth as well as the change of current during the deposition were studied, and the crystal phase structure, surface morphol., chem. compns. as well as photoluminescence at room temp. were investigated by XRD, SEM, XPS and FA (fluorescence anal.), resp.  The results revealed that the grain growth was more complete for the CaMoO4 films deposited on polished substrate, and the grain size was larger and the photoluminescence at room temp. better than that of CaMoO4 films deposited on the substrate etched by mixt. acids.  When the soln. pH exceeded 12.30, cluster growth of the grains was obsd.  Therefore, it is better to prep. CaMoO4 films by potentiostatic anode oxidn. method on polished substrate, and to control the soln. pH at about 12.00.

Abstract

The influence of c.d. and pre-treatment of substrates on the formation of CaMoO4 thin films prepd. by electrochem. technique under const. c.d. conditions was studied.  The results reveal that when the c.d. of anode oxidn. is enlarged, the growth speed of CaMoO4 thin films will be accelerated; whereas the cluster growing trend of CaMoO4 grains will be aggravated, and the adhesive force and uniformity of as-prepd. thin films would be weakened.  The different pre-treatment ways of the substrates have great impact on the growth speed of grains, depositing ways as well as the uniformity of the as-prepd. CaMoO4.  Furthermore, the depositing speed of CaMoO4 thin films on the substrate mech. polished is much faster than that on substrates roughly grinded or polished by using the mixt. acids, and the deposition of CaMoO4 thin films on the substrate mech. polished will hardly leads to the growth of cluster grains.  The results indicate that the optimized electrochem. deposit condition for CaMoO4 films is the c.d. about 0.5mA/cm2 deposited on the substrates polished mech.

Abstract

The effects of soln. acidity and reaction temp. on the formation of CaMoO4 thin films were studied under const. c.d. process.  The soln. acidity could affect the growth time and photoluminescence of as-prepd. CaMoO4 thin films, and low soln. acidity could cause the formation of clusters and the appearance of uncertain phases.  When the reaction temp. was raised appropriately, the growth of CaMoO4 grain would be accelerated, the purity of as-prepd. CaMoO4 thin films be improved and the relative intensity of emission spectra of as-prepd. films be increased.  The optimized pH value and reaction temp. were found to be 12.0 and 60 °C, resp., for the prepn. of well crystd. and high purity CaMoO4 polycryst. thin films.
