[交流] PhD studentships in drug development/pharmaceutical research

With an unprecedented support of Macau SAR Government, the University of Macau (UM) is now making its way to become a world class university. Our new campus is situated in the Hengqin Island near Macau (http://www.umac.mo/new_campus_project/). UM has recently established the new Faculty of Health Sciences (https://fhs.umac.mo/) with the aim to perform highly innovative scientific research. Three faculty funded PhD studentships are now available in the areas of drug development and pharmaceutical research in Prof. Kin Tam’s Lab. The studentships will start from 1st of September 2014, and are fully funded during the three-year PhD program. Monthly salary will be around MOP10,000 - 12,000 depending on the candidate’s experiences and qualification. Accommodation within the university campus will be provided as appropriate.

Highly motivated candidates with a MSc/BSc in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry (or a related field), excellent communication skills in English (oral & in writing) and the ability to work well both independently and in a team are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience in LC-MS/MS, metabolite identification, ADME assays and pharmacokinetic studies are welcome. Experience in handling animal (mouse) is preferred but not essential. Successful applicants may work on one of the following research areas:

1. Preclinical optimization of candidate drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease
2. Gut wall metabolism
3. Interactions between antibacterial agents and biomimetic artificial membranes
