Call for papers

One dimensional (1D) semiconductor oxidenanostructures, such as nanowires, nanorods, nanotubes and hierarchicalstructures assembled by them have attracted more and more interests in the pastfew years due to their unique spatial architectures and potential applicationsin optical, electrical, optoelectronic, photocatalytic and electrochemicalfields. As well known, the morphologies and microstructures of the obtainednanomaterials seriously affect their physical and chemical properties. So it isvery important to synthesize the desired nanostructures with the controlledsizes and shapes To improve the output efficiency of the micro/nanodevices invarious fields, assembling micro/nanostructured building blocks into twodimensional (2D) or three dimensional (3D) hierarchical structures isnecessary.

In order to summarizeand emphasis the recent advances in rational designing various nanostructuresby different prepared methods and some novel properties and applications ofmetal oxide nanomaterials, we sincerely invite investigators to contribute originalresearch articles, communications, as well as review articles to this special issue “Synthesis,Properties and Applications of Semiconductor Metal Oxide” to be published in MaterialsFocus, an international journal published by the American ScientificPublishers (www.aspbs.com). Weare particularly interested in articles describing novel growth approaches,unique physical and chemical properties and nano-device applications.Contributions that involveany kinds of metal oxide nanomaterials as listed below (but not limited to)

●design and assemblyof metal oxide nanostructures

●metal oxidenanostructures for catalytic applications

●metal oxidenanostructures for energy applications

●metal oxidenanostructures for optoelectronics applications

●metal oxide nanostructures for bio-inspired smart material applications

Manuscripts must be prepared according toJournal’s guidelines, available at

http://www.aspbs.com/mat/

Prospective authors should submit a single file havingtext/figures/tables all together in MS Word format directly to the GuestEditors via e-mail. A graphical abstract is mandatory for all types ofpapers. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed to ensure a high quality ofarticles. Please indicate in your cover letter that the submitted paper isoriginal and has not been published previously and is not currently submittedto any other journal and will not be submitted elsewhere before a finaldecision is made by this journal.
