Job Description

Job Title:  Application Scientist
Location:  Guangzhou, Wuhan or Chengdu

Position Summary:
The application scientist will be responsible for pre-sale and post-sale technical support for life science products with a focus on protein biology and molecular biology to improve customer satisfaction. Located in Guangzhou/Wuhan/Chengdu, the position will also provide onsite support for key customers in local regions. With solid technical background in protein biology and molecular biology, as well as deep understanding of related products and laboratory techniques, the scientist will help customers for proper use of our products and assist sales team to achieve the sale targets.

Essential Job Functions:
• Address professionally pre-sale inquiries to help customer select appropriate products and understand the features of our products.
• Help customers for post-sale troubleshooting of their experiments involving our products.
• Handling product complaints by effective communication with customers and sales teams.
• Introduce tech knowledge together with product information to customers by customer visits and onsite seminars.
• Provide tech trainings for sales team and distributors so that they can understand better the features of products and how customers may use them, in the context of product solutions together with related products for certain applications.
• Support marketing team and other groups with professional product knowledge and direct feedbacks from customers.
• Effective usage of laboratory facilities to validate products which customers have concerns and to train sales team or other colleagues.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
• Rigorous academic trainings and >=5 years’ hands-on experiences in protein biology and molecular biology. Able to do trouble shooting in some of the following laboratory techniques: EMSA, IP/CoIP, Western Blot, affinity purification, mass spectrometer/HPLC, immunohistochemistry, molecular cloning, qPCR, etc.  Additional expertise in cell biology is a plus.
• Skillful communication with colleagues and customers.
• Strong capability for presentation and efficient transfer of information and knowledge to others.
• Ability to learn new techniques and products quickly.
• Excellent reading and writing in English with good oral English
• Active and initiative work attitude for making progress relative independently.
• Willing to travel domestically as needed.

Education Qualifications:
• Minimal master degree in life sciences required. PhD or PostDoc Preferred. Education abroad a plus.
