Cerium oxides (CeO2 and Ce0.63Zr0.37O2) were supplied by Rhodia Electronics and Catalysis (La Rochelle, France). Rhodia Electronics & Catalysis (Rhodia EC) has been involved for more than 35 years into the business of Rare Earths and has recently accelerated its reorganization to become a dynamic, global supplier of high value added products. To achieve this goal, REC has given a leading role to innovation in order to serve high-tech application markets such as automotive emissions control, electronics (capacitors, phosphors, CMP and fine polishing.), new materials (pigments, anti-UV additives for polymers.). Exemplified by three cases, we will explain how we conducted this strategic move from a high purity rare earth material supplier to a high performance product manufacturer using complex chemical processes. New developments in phosphors, Diesel engine exhaust cleaning and ceramics for Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) applications will be discussed in the present paper. (author abst.) |

好像是个协会or组织。 Rhodia Electronics and Catalysis, Inc. changed its name on January 1, 2001 from Rhodia Pinjarra. Previously it had changed its name from the former Rhône-Poulenc to Rhodia in 1999 ([Civiello, 2003]). The Rhodia group is a recognized world leader in specialty chemicals and develops value-added products and services for the beauty, clothing, foodstuffs and healthcare markets apart from its contribution to the environment and transportation industries. It is investigating the feasibility of establishing a rare earths elements (REE) plant at Pinjarra near Perth, Western Australia ( [ACTED, 2003]). |
