This position has been allocated in the newly adopted research project entitled "Innivative new structural materials" (10 year project). Kyushu university is in charge of the development of high-performance aerospace aluminum alloys in collaboration with a material manufacturer. Content of work Content of work is the evaluation of aerospace aluminum alloys. Successful candidates are expected to mainly perform the evaluation of hydrogen micro pores in aluminium alloys and their effects on the fracture and strength of aluminum alloys by means of the 3D imaging technique. The researcher will join to synchrotron X-ray microtomography experiments and perform the analyses and evaluation of obtained 3D/4D images with other students and staffs. Research field 1. A researcher who is motivated to perform the above-mentioned research on the basis of the mechanical engineering and/or materials science and engineering. Any nationality is acceptable. We would rather welcome a person with a background of materials strength, 3D imaging, hydrogen and materials, or finite element methods. Treatment The university rule shall be applied. (Yearly contract system. Social insurance supplied. JPY 6,000,000 at the maximum.) Deadline for applications 2013/10/01 - 2013/11/15 Will be terminated when prospective candidates appear.
