Research Assistantship Positions in Computational Materials Science Two Research Assistantship (RA) openings are available in Professor Yifei Mo’s group at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). Prof. Mo’s group develops and employs computational modeling and simulation techniques to design materials for energy applications. Our group collaborates closely with other experimental research groups at UMD, leading to many opportunities for cross-fertilization. More information about Prof. Mo can be found at http://mse.umd.edu/faculty/mo The candidate will be seeking a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering. The research project will be developing new materials for the next-generation battery technology using computational techniques. The ideal candidate will have basic programming skills and knowledge of materials science or solid state physics, but enthusiastic and motivated applicants with varied background will be considered.
