在computational material science 一书中有如下一段话： In current sciectific understanding the word "modeling"(model(Latin, Italian):copy,replica, exemplar) often cobers two quite different meanings, namely,model formulation and mumerical modeling. The latter term is frequently used as a synomym for mumerical simulation (simulare(Latin):fake,duplicate, minic, imitate).即model含有model formulation 和numerical modeling 两重意思，而后者numerical modeling 与simulation同义。 |
