[交流] A trouble on learning english

one word, when i see it, i know the meaning of it. when translate chinese into english, i usual forget this word. after told the english word, i will suddenly realize this word, which i known before. the same question on listening, e.g. the word, listening, of course i know this word, but i need a minute to response it-aha, u say listening.
  so, what dose the problem root from? what need i do for improving it?

ths sincerely, more pity is i am a PHD student, don't have too much time just for learning english thoroughly. if i have a chance speaking with foreigners, will it be more heipful for my english, more communication?
