One of my favorite book

A good book Years ago, I have read a book called Lord of the flies which was written by William Golding. I was touched by his deep exploration into human nature of evil and conflicting with others under strict outside civilization and social rules. When William finished writing and sent it to publisher, he was refused by the publishers for the reason that he depicted too much dark side of human being and atmosphere was gloomy. Despite that after couples of times of refusion, the book was not popular at first. Only 3000 copies were sold out. However, it became a best-seller soon after and finally won Nobel Prize for its outstanding narrative and hidden part of individuals whose will of power sometimes overwhelms ethic and racial restraining. As far as I am concerned, this book’s vivid iconic of human nature of rational and irrational reactions to sequences and happenings when someone was thrown under no restrict condition was reflected by warfare in reality: different countries compete with each other for more resources and land. Are these countries the prototype of these conflicting gangs of boys? The power of literatures lies in that authors outlined a whole picture and pushed plots move forward to indicate some truths about life, realty and society. They seldom present their opinions explicitly. Maybe, that is why literature has been so charming in our world. |
