Research Scientist in Polymer Science
Location: Shanghai

You will work for one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chemicals, fertilizers, plastics and metals– SABIC. This innovative company is present in over 35 countries and has a strong growth ambition in China. To sustain this growth and to realize more innovation, we are looking for research scientists in Polymer Science to work in the SABIC Technology Center in Shanghai. The research scientist will lead research and development projects and support the development of proprietary solutions resulting in new products, platform technologies and productivity. This company will invest in you by offering extensive professional and personal training program.

Your responsibilities
• You carry out research and development projects to develop and commercialize new engineering thermoplastic products/blends to meet the customer needs
• You will anticipate technologies to meet future markets and customer needs
• You collaborate with global resources to solve various customer issues and provide technical support to field and market team
• You proactively interact with Commercial, Marketing and Application Design department to understand new opportunities
• You work closely with Manufacturing and Commercial organizations to implement new products, improve existing materials and resolve product issues
• You will work on and have solid understanding of material requirements, customer test protocols and material qualification process

Are you the one we are looking for?
• You have Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Material science, Polymer Chemistry or Physics;
• You preferably have knowledge of product development, statistical analysis or process engineering
• You are able to solve problems and handle diverse responsibilities
• You are creative, versatile, passionate for new technologies
• You are energetic, vigorous attitude, inclusive in working relationship with other functions
• You have good team work spirit, good communication and interpersonal skills
• You are visionary, out of the box thinker, open to ideas, have global mindset
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English
