                         The Formation of Commonwealth
      We often meet the word “Commonwealth” on newspapers and television. It refers to the union that is made up of many countries with Britain as the major part. But how did they form?
      Speaking of “Commonwealth”, we have to refer to the British Empire, when the British got the supreme power of sea, they began to plunder the colonies crazily, and formed the mighty “The Sun Never Set” empire disappeared gradually because the colonies were independent. In the late 19th century and the early 20th century, the “wall” of the British Empire was no longer firm, and the liberation movements of nation developed very well throughout the world, “The Sun Never Set” empire was challenged greatly and the British Empire changed its way to control the colonies. All the overseas territories will be divided into three parts, and each part had its own way of management. For the colonies where the white people the main stream, the Britain allowed them to set up their own parliament, while the important rights were still under the control of Britain. These colonies forced the Britain to grant the right of making laws on financial problems, further enhanced their status and set up the equal diplomatic relations with Britain.
      Four dominions within Britain fought against others with Britain, they stood on the side of Britain and helped the British after the outbreak of World War I. They had been recognized gradually around the world and joined the League of Nations, getting its real independence. The Commonwealth had already existed at this time, but it was recognized by law until 1931.
      In 1931, the British Parliament passed the Westminster Law, which also marked the formal establishment of the Commonwealth. It was very loose group of countries, there was no constitution, no parliament and no supreme administrative body, only the king was the symbol and the head of the Commonwealth, and members of countries sent for the persons who stood for their own countries in order to keep contact with on another.
