      The world¡¯s longest war was not World War I nor World War II, but Hundred Years¡¯ War between British and France, which lasted for 116 years. The fuse of war between the two countries was to inherit the throne, but the real reason was the problem of land.
      In November 1337 English King Edward III led his troops to attack France for the reason of fighting for the French throne. At the beginning of the war, the British defeated France with their long bows which had great power and long range, then occupied Paris and captured the French king Philip VI at that time. But as the time went by, guns began to be widely used in the war, British troops had lost the original advantage of the long bows, so the victory of the UK was not guaranteed. In addition, the France people resisted the British. And the most obvious example was the war led by French woman hero Joan of Arc in 1429, she solved the siege of Orleans. Since then, the Anti-British movement launch by French people continued to rise, and the British retreated for many times. The British surrendered in Bordeaux until October 1453, in addition to Calais, all of the French territory was recovered. Since then the Hundred Years¡¯ War ended with the victory of France.
      The Hundred Years¡¯ War was a disaster for both the British and the French people, the economy of the two countries was seriously attacked, and people got into hardship. A historian once said: when the royal families and the aristocracies of the two countries celebrated for the interests won by their own, what the innocent common people who have lost their homes and relatives, could do was to cry silently. The war lasted for one hundred years or so, people have also cried for a hundred years. However, Britain and France completed the nation¡¯s reunification finally because of war, laying the foundation for the expansion of the European continent in the future, while Britain limited its wool exports but kept the British wool textile industry developing. Second, although Britain had lost almost all the French territory, he was forced to give up its hegemony on the mainland system eventually, then turned to the sea development, thus embarking on a maritime empire road; at the same time, the war also accelerated the demise of the British feudal system.
