Dr. Zizhong Chen ( http://www.cs.ucr.edu/~chen ) from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for Ph.D. studies in the areas of high performance scientific computing, parallel and distributed processing, and cluster and cloud computing. Dr. Chen has published many papers in top HPC and cloud computing journals and conferences including TPDS, TC, JPDC, ICS, PPoPP, HPDC, and SC, and received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2012. The details of Dr. Chen's research can be found at: http://www.cs.ucr.edu/~chen/superlab. Qualified candidates are expected to have strong programming experiences in C, C++ or Fortran under Linux platform and good English writting skills. Students with strong CS, Math, EE, or Physics backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
