[交流] A local race

Fall is the right season for sports. It is not hot, in many places, it does not rain often.

A 5-km race happened in our neighborhood yesterday, I went and take some pictures. I'd like to share some of the pictures with you.

Because I am not familiar with the local condition, so some of my statements are only based on my own esitmation. I will use worlds like possible, may often.

The race began at 6:00 pm, it may be organized by some NGOs, a difference between such an activity here on one in our country may be, there is no slogan. Some companies may focus on such activities, so, they have equipments for start line, end line, and timer. Often this can only be carried out with a few staff.

And, no leader make any speech before or after the race.

Many people took part in this race, old, young, male, female, and even people in wheelchairs! Compared with the trophy, the registration fee is high. The registration fee is $15 per person, while the trophy for the champion is only $100.

The environmental quality, at least the air quality here is good, the sky was very blue at this time. So, it should be very nice to run 5 km under such a sky, when it was cool. You must feel cool, too.

The Champion, he finished in about 16 min and 47 seconds. Do you noitce the woman to the right of the runner sitting beside a desk? She is operation the timing system, the mat on the ground can sense and time the runner.

Oh. Last Thanksgiving, we also took part in a 10-km run.

The registration fee was $30, so we did not register, we only ran.

Only first three runners in each group can get a prize, $100 for the champion.

it seems not too many people have participated the competitation. any way ,the number of the participants  is not the most critical thing which matters. enjoying the fresh air, easy atmosphere of the wonderful live may be the most important. it definitely is a fascinating outdoor activity for all the people.

Actually, it is only a neighborhood race, like a community in China.

And, you know, nearly more than half of the local people are very fat, too fat to run.
