Most traditional meals in the West are served separately to individuals. Sharing a meal is only done in foreign-style restaurants. After bringing each person one menu, the waiter will leave the table a few minutes to decide, and then come back later to check on the customers. The waiter brings everyone's food at the same time, but traditionally serves the women first.
