【2013-10-31】The "March" Meeting, a symposium in honor of Professor N

The Laboratory for Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Namur and the Quantum Theory Project at the University of Florida take great pleasure in announcing a symposium in honor of Professor Norman H. March. 网址https://www.clas.ufl.edu/users/harrisfe/March/march.index.htm The Symposium will take place in Namur, November 21-23, 2013. Norman plans to attend. Norman's contributions to science in Belgium and his steadfast participation in the Sanibel Symposia (organized by the University of Florida) make it appropriate that the Universities of Namur and Florida take the lead in organ- izing a Symposium at a location convenient for Norman. The aim of the "March" meeting is to honor Norman through ● Contributions that show how themes of Norman's work are of current and future relevance; ● Presentations by Norman's friends to illustrate how that science is going forward, and ● Assessments of current and emerging developments in electronic-structure theory, particularly in the places where Norman has spent time during these last few years. New developments in zero-temperature density functional theory ● Density functional theory at "warm dense matter" conditions ● Density matrices, harmonic confinement, quantum dots ● Polymers and Clusters ● Science in Florida motivated by Norman's work ● Science in Belgium motivated by Norman's work ● Classical and quantum phase transitions ● Electron gas in two or three dimensions March meeting.jpg |
