摘要：低头玩手机，弓着身子玩游戏机，现在的小孩子们大部分业余时间都是在电子设备的陪伴下度过的。这种现代病症是孩子们长时间弓着身子玩游戏或玩手机造成的，会导致脊柱弯曲，有时会引发椎间盘突出。
　　An increasing number of young people are developing a condition, unique to modern society, that is dubbed 'Gameboy Back'。

　　越来越多的年轻人开始患上一种现代社会独有的病症，叫做“游戏背”。

　　The modern phenomenon, which causes curvature of the spine and sometimes herniated (slipped) discs, is a result of children sitting hunched over games consoles and smartphones for hours on end. The problem is particularly prevalent in eight to 18-year-olds。

　　这种现代病症是孩子们长时间弓着身子玩游戏或玩手机造成的，会导致脊柱弯曲，有时会引发椎间盘突出。这种现象在8到18岁的青少年当中尤为常见。

　　However, a ban on such devices is not required. Instead more attention needs to be paid to correct posture。

　　不过，要解决这一问题不是要禁用这一类设备，而是要多多注意平时的坐姿。

　　The last time such symptoms were observed was more than 100 years ago, when child labor was common in Europe. In those days, kids got weak back from child labor, now they're getting it from these devices. (Source: Mail Online)

　　100多年前童工在欧洲很普遍的时期，青少年中曾出现过类似的症状。那时候，孩子们的后背不好是因为繁重的劳动，而现在却是因为这些电子设备。
