Have you ever judged a person by his appearance?

As is known to all, it is important to have a good first impression, which may play a key role in the success of the interview. We can understand very well the importance of the first impression in life since we would like to make friends with others or not repel against contacting them when we believe in the stranger’s first impression. However, we can know a person after having gotten contact with them again; we sometimes judge a person through his appearance or making mistakes about his first impression because the one whose appearance is normal may be funny, humorous or ready to help others, which may not reveal from the first impression. actually I don't want to answer the simple question about yes or no firstly ，since in my mind，it is not only a so-called essay question when we connected with others，no matter strangers or acquaintances ，we will have our first impression by means of different judgement tools which we can rely on，for example，when we answer the telephone ，but the guy in the phone isn't familiar to us ，or even we haven't met each other before，what kind of impression will you have ？of course we can grasp our first feeling first through the telephone communication ，from the guy's voice，the way of his speaking，the speed of his words and so many slight details which we can grasp，we will have our own judgement about the guy we never met before，maybe it can be regarded as a kind of our imagination according to the initial analysis of course for those kind of judgement，we won't pay more attention to its accuracy，since it is just one of our direct conditional reflex，but the result of such kind of conditional responses makes up our first impression this kind of judgement is mainly from the voice，we judge it from the voice we hear but what we often hear is about the situation of judging others by appearances，it seems it tells us the extreme situation of the arbitrary and unfair judgement we human being made，on the contrary，I share the different viewpoint，I think it is still similar with the example I mentioned above，the only difference is the tools we analyzed，for telephone communication，we can only judge others by voice ---those abstract features，for the meeting with others，we can change it into concrete image，we can judge it with our own eyes，that's to say we can see it this time rather than hear it only with our ears once at the sight of the specific object，we will react to it，thus we will have our first reaction to the things we see，it can be treated as the first impression others left on us，but it doesn't solely mean we judge by appearance，maybe we can think like that--we just react to the first feature we grasp，when meeting with others face to face，if it is the first meeting between us，we will judge others by what we see with our eyes firstly，it is the reactions we made according to all the features we grasp through the meeting，it is not only about appearance，but also other features what we can see and what we can rely on in order to make a comparatively full and complete analysis ，such as from his dressing way，from his decent talking and his table manners or anything else ，in a word，all features which we can see or experience won't be ignored by us then it will form into our first impression，but you can see it is not a simple or pure judgement by appearance，appearance is not only standing for the looks one had ，it includes other elements judging solely by appearance is a stupid way to know others，if you really want to know more，only keeping an eye on the looks isn't enough，it won't help u react accurately or even will lead u to misunderstanding and confusion sometimes for some strangers walking around the street，if you never have the idea of making friends with them or knowing more about them，we can just look at them freely ，maybe we can only pay attention to their looks，since there won't be any connection later between us，we don't care what kind of guy they are，thus we can decide on our own whether we just want to judge them only by their simple looks but for those important position，maybe good appearance can give u some benefit first，but without real talents，nothing can help u move forward since when people who judge u by appearance eventually find out your talents aren't a good match with your appearance，they won't consider to give u the important position which need the competent guys hold appearance only stands for a concrete feature which can help us make an initial and simple judgement，it never stands for a complete and final result |

 we judge people by his/her appearance if we don't know him/her.... and it always works  that's the truth....though we can not judge people by appearance.... it seems a little controversy...... |

As old saying goes, don’t judge a person by his looks which focus on reminding us the person’s ability is not associated with appearance. Maybe so-called idol style and capability style. If the host mainly discusses first impression, I agree the first impression is very important, and a good appearance is likely to produce a good first impression, but the two are not equivalent. The good manner, decent dress, friendly smile and eye contacting are more important factors than good appearance, vice versa only good appearance could not directly have a good impression. I suppose the host wants to remind us the appearance is not really dependable, we need combine different signals to get a comprehensive judgment. |

All of us juged a person by apperance,you just don't konw it! Imagine, you meet some one dressed like a beggar at a ball,the first mind come out is"yuk! How careless about dress he is!".If you think what I think,you are with me whether admit or not. Try to think another one,if your friend introduce her close friend never met to you,how could you know more about her? The only way is judging by appearance which not only include her face,figure, but how her dress, behaviour even what she say. Don't know what other people do,that's my way.Thank to it,I handle some kinds of situation like this easily.
