The position is open now, and will remain open until filled. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with cognitiveneuroscientists, psychologists, computer scientists, psychiatrists, and various neuroimaging specialists on research aimed at elucidatingthe cognitive mechanisms associated with the processing andquantification of information in the brain, especially as it pertains to cognitive control. The laboratories also have a separate line of research in attentionand emotion processing in clinical (anxiety, autism, andneurologically impaired patients) and non-clinical populations. Dr.Jin Fan, Assistant Professor of Psychology at QC, CUNY and AssistantProfessor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at MSSM will serve as theprimary mentor, although interactions with other QC and MSSMaffiliated faculty is a certainty. The fellow will also have numerous interactions with Dr. Fan’scolleagues at institutions locally (e.g., New York University,Columbia University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine), nationally, and internationally. Core Competencies/Qualifications:
Interested applicants must hold a doctoral degree in cognitive neuroscience, or a closely related field, and should have substantial experience in neuroimaging (methods, as well as data collection and analysis). Some background and/or advanced training in functional connectivity, graph theory-based, granger causality, and/or effective connectivity,as well as network-based (e.g., small world, etc.) analyses is preferred. It is critical that the candidate have expertise and working knowledgeof fMRI analysis software (preferably SPM, though FSL, AFNI, andothers are also acceptable), along with familiarity of Matlab andE-Prime programming. Experience interpreting neuroimaging data, working knowledge offunctional neuroanatomy, and background in attention, cognitivecontrol, and/or neuroeconomics is highly desirable. A minimum two-year commitment is required
