Object : Postdoctoral position in Polymer Chemistry, laboratory of Chemistry Ecole Normale Sup¨¦rieure de Lyon Project : Novel Polymer-based Gels Electrolytes (NoGELPo) Fundings: Projet d¡¯Avenir Lyon St Etienne (PALSE), 300 kEur/ 2 years Period : 1 year (+ 1 year extension), starting 01/09/2013 Salary: 25-30 kEur /year Profile: In the framework of their NoGELPo project, funded by the Programme d¡¯Avenir Lyon Saint-Etienne the Chemistry Laboratory of the Ecole Normale Sup¨¦rieure de Lyon (LC-ENSL) is currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in polymer and material chemistry. This position will be appointed for one year, with the possibility extension for another one year, depending on intermediate evaluations of the candidate¡¯s progress on the project and his personal motivation. NoGelPo is an amergent multidisciplinary project at the LC-ENSL, which focuses on the synthesis of new gel electrolytes for energy storage applications. It benefits from the collaboration of two internationally prominent groups in their field, the Matter and Complexity group of the Physics Laboratory at the ENSL, and the Polymer Structure & Rheology group of the Polymer Materials Engineering laboratory at the University of Saint Etienne. These collaborations warrant an access to state-of-the-art equipment and latest characterization technologies, in virtually all aspecst of materials ynthesis and characterizations. The postdoctoral researcher working in the chemistry laboratory will dedicate most of his research activity to the synthesis and modification of polymer of the poly(ionic liquid) type (PIL) and the study of their gel formation ability and electric conduction properties. The candidate will have completed a PhD degree in Material Chemistry. He will have a strong experience in polymer synthesis a good knowledge of modern polymerization techniques and should be familiar with their structural characterization. Basic knowledge or, ideally, a prior experience in polymer rheology would be appreciated. The applicant will have a good level in English, good communication skills, and will be familiar with the different elements of scientific communication (preparation of manuscripts, reports, and oral communication). For additional information regarding position¡¯s profile and application process, potential applicants are invited to contact Dr. Cyrille Monnereau by e-mail (cyrille.monnereau@ens-lyon.fr) Information on the Chemistry Laboratory and the funding agency PALSE are available online, and accessible with the following links: For the LC-ENSL : http://www.ens-lyon.fr/CHIMIE For the PALSE: http://imagine.universite-lyon.f ... yon-saint-etienne-/ (French) |
