[交流] Postdoc positions at the NanoGeoScience group已有8人参与

注意是positions,复数。他们每年都招聘很多人,覆盖很多不同专业。所以这个招聘广告也可以理解为明年后年也适用。。。而且适用于PhD,每年需要很多博士生。
霸气侧漏的招聘广告如下:

Postdoc positions at the NanoGeoScience group (Department of Chemistry)

NanoGeoScience group is international, with more than 50 researchers from chemistry, physics, engineering, mineralogy, geology, nanoscience, mathematics and biology. We work together in a dynamic, friendly team to solve questions of relevance to environment and energy. We combine a unique set of nanoscale techniques with classical methods to understand the fundamental processes that take place at the interface between natural materials and fluids (water, oil, CO2 , O2 , etc.) and then use the new knowledge to help solve society′s challenges. Some of these include developing methods for ensuring safe drinking water, responsible storage of waste, converting CO2 to mineral form, squeezing more oil from exhausted reservoirs in environmentally responsible ways, and understanding the mysteries of how organisms make biominerals, such as bones, teeth and shells. The NanoGeoScience research group is starting several new projects, funded by the European Commission, the Danish Advanced Technology Foundation, Maersk Oil and Gas A/S, the University of Copenhagen, and other private sector partners, so in the next months, we will be filling a number of positions as: Post Doctoral Fellows

The positions
Your background can be physics, chemistry, geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, hydrogeology, engineering, materials science, mathematics or other - it does not matter - but we expect you to be comfortable with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

A PhD and experience in one of the topics is required.

We also require an interest in natural materials and their interaction with water, organic compounds and gases. Enthusiasm for working in a team with scientists from other disciplines is essential. Our aim is to build new understanding of solid-fluid interaction at molecular level by combining experiment and theory over a range of scales and across disciplines and then apply that new knowledge to real systems, solving problems for society and industry.

Hydrogeology/engineering/physics - fluid dynamics, flow through porous media
General chemistry
Geochemistry/mineralogy - mineral-fluid interactions
Physics - X-ray scattering, tomography
Computational/theoretical physics/chemistry (DFT/MD/coarse graining)
Duration
The post doc positions can be contracted for from 1 to 5 years. Teaching is possible but not required.

The research scope
The materials of interest are chalk, limestone, sandstone, soil and minerals of all sorts, aqueous solutions, gases, oil, and organic and inorganic components; the temperature of interest ranges from 0 to 120 °C and pressure, from 1 to about 250 atm.

Our group′s overall research questions for the new projects include: "Can we characterise porous materials in 3 dimensions, at the nanometre scale, as a function of time, so as to predict petrophysical and geochemical parameters that scale from the molecular to the centimetre scale?", "Can we understand the molecular level processes that control the behaviour of natural materials so that we can design an environmentally friendly product or process that will increase oil recovery from existing reservoirs?", "Can we discover the changes in fine grained porous material, when CO2 interacts with them?", "Can we describe the mineral-fluid interface processes in soils and sediments so that we can design more effective ways to clean soils and protect drinking water?" "Can we understand how organisms design and grow specific mineral faces during biomineralisation?" We are interested in studying all aspects of the physical and chemical properties of natural materials and their behaviour at the nanometre scale, using a range of classical and high tech techniques.

The research team and facilities
The senior researchers, who take part in directing the research, mentoring young scientists and advising PhD students that are associated with the NanoGeoScience group are: Klaus Bechgaard (chemist/physicist), Keld West (chemical engineer), Robert Feidenhans′l (X-ray physicist), Emil Makovicky (mineralogist), Leonid Lakshtanov (physical chemist) and Susan Stipp (surface geochemist, engineer). We also work closely with representatives from industry who have many years of experience at the interface between fundamental research and application of results, and with colleagues from other universities in Europe and North America.

Some of the experienced younger scientists in the group include Tue Hassenkam (physicist, specialist in AFM), Nico Bovet (chemist, surface spectroscopy), Henning Osholm Sørensen (chemist, X-ray scattering, crystallography), Kim Dalby (geologist, surface spectroscopy, SEM), Dominique Tobler (geologist, biomineralisation), Martin Andersson (computational physics and chemistry), Knud Dideriksen (geochemist, surface speciation and isotope fractionation), Bo Christiansen (geochemist, mineralogy), Sorin Nedel (chemist, anoxic systems) and Juan Diego Rodrigues Blanco (mineralogist, geochemist). Extensive networks with other research groups, through international collaborations, European Commission projects, a consortium sponsored by a UK EPSRC grant (British Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) and industrial contracts, offer opportunities to learn supplementary skills, to make contacts and to interface with scientists from other laboratories internationally.

The NanoGeoScience laboratories are new, with a combination of state-of-the-art facilities for surface analysis and classical techniques for solid and solution characterisation. The combination of facilities and expertise is unique in the world. In house facilities include: several scanning probe microscopes (SPM) for atomic force microscopy (AFM), atomic force spectroscopy (SFS) and chemical force mapping (CFM), an ultrahigh vacuum chamber specially designed for geochemical samples with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and low energy electron diffraction (LEED) and several other spectroscopic techniques, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), field emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEG SEM), with a focussed ion beam (FIB), environmental SEM (ESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET surface area, streaming potential, classical wet chemistry methods such as atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), ion chromatography (IC), potentiometry, and so on, controlled temperature and pressure vessels, glove boxes as well as several high capacity computers and access to the Danish Center for Scientific Computing cluster and a private sector High Speed Computing Grid for computational work. We have frequent beam time for a range of X-ray scattering techniques that we do at synchrotron radiation facilities such as wide and small angle X-ray scattering (WAXS, SAXS), X-ray reflectivity (XR) and micro and nano X-ray tomography (MXT and NXT).

Our expectations about you, as a person
The group is dynamic, international and multidisciplinary. It is an exciting environment. We expect that you like to be part of a team, that you have a sense of humour, you are a good problem solver, enjoy helping others and that you are also able to work effectively and independently. You are interested in the behaviour of natural materials and are enthusiastic about learning more. You are also excited about fundamental science and applying the results to solve practical problems of importance to society. Because the group and the research questions are interdisciplinary, we are looking for people who are open minded, excited about absorbing new information across disciplines and curious about applying their skills in new ways.

Half our more than 50 group members are Danish and half come from the rest of the world. We are half women and half men. Daily interaction in our group is in English. The Nano-Science Center wants to have its members reflect the diversity of science and society, so we look forward to your application regardless of your gender, your age, your religion or your ethnic background.

Employment conditions
The start dates for these positions are flexible. We will fill some of them immediately, but we are prepared to hold a position for the right candidate. Please indicate in your application, your choice of start date. Salary and employment conditions are set by agreements between the Danish Finance Ministry and the relevant trade union and are determined from your education and experience.
