| Is it possible that too much angiogenesis can actually be bad for tumour growth? Resolution of the Delta paradox may come from the realization that wildly unrestrained vascular growth, occurring in the absence of the normal checks and balances, can yield highly abnormal vascular structures that are poorly functional. This Progress article will consolidate recent results on the role of DLL4 in tumour angiogenesis, and discuss the therapeutic potential of targeting this pathway. |
