The journal is committed to promoting high standards in the field of applied materials and interfaces. Before deciding to send your manuscript out for external review I have examined it myself. I regret to report that I find the manuscript off topic for the ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces audience, whose interest lies in studies which integrate knowledge in the area of materials development and interfaces into important applications. Your paper falls in the area of tribology or friction and wear. There are more appropriate journals for such work. We receive many more manuscripts than our restricted page budget allows us to accept. Consequently, we must make decisions based on likely science/engineering impact and interest to our readership. I am sorry that we are unable to consider this paper, but I hope that this prompt response will allow you to consider alternative journals without further delay. |
