| As can be seen from equation 1, the damping of a coating system is not only related with the thickness of the coating, but also connected with the slip of the interface within coating. In general, diffusion of elements and slip of the interface are both possible mechanisms for energy dissipation. Thus, in this paper, damping mechanisums of different coating systems are discussed based on relevant experimental data, including the thickness of the coating, slip of the interface and diffusion of elements. |
