My journey in the area of mountains

After almost one month’s life of field, i am in my laboratory again now. At beginning, i was about to complaint about the terrible condition of living in the high mountains, but now no tired any more and .i feel a little happy. So i decide to share some pictures to you guys. Hoping you can find some interesting things in there, more or less. As you can see in this picture, the place we visit is an old town, of which there is a story saying it was a place which born scholars. But it is not the reason why we come and visit it; at least it seems to me, the old buildings attract me a lot.  Though i know nothing about the construction, i feel the special thing in this picture, or maybe i can say it unique. The words in there are so strange but cool, and the animals carved on there are vivid. I just think the sculptures are great.  Is there any worm familiar with the door in the picture? If you know the Da Guan Yuan of ‘a Dream of Red Mansions’, you must see many doors like this. Yes, these kind of doors are very popular in old China, especially in the south of China. I like the figured pattern around the O shape door.  I am sure many worms see the thing before, because i have seen many in the most of villages in south of China. I am just crazy about the two lions in the front of the door.  I can’t catch the meaning of this sculpture, but it’s really funny. One foot up a ball, and two arms hug a small animal. I feel so sorry because i don’t know what the small animal is. Do you know what the meaning of it is?  And this one, i just feel weird, is it?  Do you like this picture? Are these called rafters? Oh, i think it is so amazing, do you think so? The designs are beautiful, and those fan-shaped holes on the wall. Have you see the sky, do you like it?  This picture is my favorite. You see the window, special and great. The wall is decorated with pattern of plants and poetry, you can see the poem of ‘Li Bai’ there. I ‘d like to build a wall like this.  It is a bridge, yeah, that’s right. It is a bridge made of wood. And you can see the wood is very old, and you can feel a little bit of danger if you walk through it. It never stop swinging when i walk in it. The feeling is cool, but taking the risk of dropping into the river. By the way, you may have seen the blue water or white water, but water in this river is green, which is the pure green, no pollution.  And now you see the houses, they were made by clay; these houses have their own style. Considering i am not good at houses, i don’t know how to describe them, you can just enjoy them. But what i want to say is the houses are destroyed little by little. So if no operative measures to be taken out, the consequence is hard to say. [ Last edited by 00waterh on 2013-5-30 at 21:10 ] |
