SCI期刊《IEEE知识和数据工程》(TKDE)首席创刊主编,SCI期刊《国际系统集成》主编,SCI期刊《IEEE软件工程》(TSE)主编,加州大学伯克利分校Chittoor V Ramamoorthy教授将参加CENet2013(www.tocenet.org)大会进行学术演讲,欢迎各大高校研究所学者参会! Chittoor V Ramamoorthy Professor Emeritus Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences UC Berkeley Chittoor V Ramamoorthy has earned six degrees, two from the University of Madras, India in physics and technology respectively, two graduate degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and two graduate degrees (A.M. & Ph.D.) in electrical engineering and computer science (applied mathematics) from Harvard University (1964). His education at Harvard was supported by Honeywell Inc. with whom he was associated until 1967 as Senior Staff Scientist. He was among the three engineers under the late Dr. Eachus to develop the first transistorized computer, for Honeywell, the H-290. In academia, he was a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (1967-1972) and an interim Chairman of the Computer Sciences Department at the University of Texas, Austin. Since 1972, he has been a Professor of Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley and subsequently, Professor in the Graduate School and Professor Emeritus. He has held the Control-Data Distinguished Professorship at the University of Minnesota, the Grace Hopper Chair at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, and Visiting Research Professorships at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern University, respectively. He also holds the Honorary Professorship at Asia University Taichung, Taiwan. He is a Senior Research Fellow of the ICC Institute of the University of Texas, Austin. His contributions have been in the areas of software engineering, distributed and parallel computation and computer architecture. He has mentored 73+ Ph.D. students. Among his many honors are the Group Award in Education for Curriculum Development, the Taylor Booth Award for outstanding contributions to education, the Richard Merwin Award for outstanding professional contributions, the Golden Core Recognition, the Hitachi-Kanai Award in 2001 for fundamental contributions in parallel and distributed computing, and the Best Paper Award in 1987, all from the IEEE Computer Society. He also received the IEEE Centennial Medal and the Millennium Medal, and was the co-winner of the IEEE Best Paper Award, the Donald Fink Prize, in 2003. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and a Fellow of the Society of Design and Process Science. From the latter, he received the R.T. Yeh Distinguished Achievement Award and in 2002, he received its Gold Medal of Honor, as well as the highest honor, the Herbert Simon Award, in 2006. He also received the commendation of admiration and recognition from Southern Methodist University personally autographed by the late Nobel Laureate and inventor of the integrated circuit, Jack S. Kilby. Dr. Ramamoorthy served as the founding Editor in Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), founding Co-Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Systems Integration, and Editor in Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE). He was elected and served as the First Vice-President and Governing Board Member of the IEEE Computer Society. He was a Founding Director of the International Institute of Systems Integration in Campinas, Brazil and a member of the International Advisory Board for the National University of Singapore. Dr. Ramamoorthy served on several advisory committees of the U.S. Government and academia including Advisory Committees of the U.S.Army (Advanced Strategic Missile Defense), the Air Force (Science Advisory Board), the Navy (Office of Naval Research), the Los Alamos National Labs, Lockheed Research, IBM Research, and the University Systems of Florida, Texas, Missouri, California, Toronto, etc. He has published more than 200 papers and co-edited three books. Some recent activities include serving as the General Chair of the IEEE Software Quality International Conference (QSIC), the Honorary Chair of the International Conference of the Society of Design and Process Sciences in Turkey, the International Conference on Systems Integration in Brazil, and the Keynote Speaker at the International Cyberspace Conference in Louisiana, the IEEE International Conference on Secure Software Integration and Reliability Improvement (SSIRI) in Korea, and the College of Engineering of Andhra University, the second largest state university in India, sponsored the International Workshop on Transdisciplinary Studies and Education in his honor. |
