[交流]
are you capable of presenting in English?
|

| just like what I said in the title. are you able to give a presentation in English? For instance, if you are a phd student, can you present your results in front of the andiences in English? are you confident that the sentences you say when you present are logical and understandble? In addition, do you still use the simplest sentences upon the course of presentation? |

| well i am a master student and fortunately i participated in the 2012CMR in Taiyuan and made my first english presentation during the conference. it seems that everyone is friendly and the atmosphere there was wonderful. I take the view that an academic presentation is to show your ideas and researches. the first thing we should do is make our opinion clear and undstandable. |

from what you conveyed I guess that your english is awesome, capable of communicating with native speaker without barriers. Can I ask what sorts of conference you are involved in and how long your predentation took? Did you take any questions afterwards? is your conference international or national? please fogive me coz I am out of your research area. Thank you. |

I did my presentations in English before.Unfortunately they were all very boring. Honestly it is not that difficult to express yourself and to present content to your audience in English. The difficult part is in the speaker-audience interaction.Sometimes it is more important to make sure your listeners enjoy your talk/presentation than to cram all your ideas into your listeners' heads. |

I suppose that you have a experience of studying abroad, giving presentation in English to the audience. even though we practiced a lot to make our presentation funny and attractive, the real effect sometime was actually differred from what we expected, expecially interacting with professors, namely when answer questions raised from the andience. answering questions in chinese is not that easy, let alone in English. So the splendid aspect of a presentation is Q&A, which requests tons of practice. |
