| The different product distributions obtained over the bimetallic silicide catalyst still demonstrate the synergistic effect between NiSi2 and CoSi2 in the HDS of DBT (Table 2). CoSi2 had the highest initial DDS selectivity of 96.6% in the HDS of DBT and NiSi2 showed lower DDS selectivity (88.8%), while the DDS selectivity was lowest (68.5%) for the Ni0.75Co0.25Si2 catalyst. Although both silicides reacted mainly through the DDS pathway, NiSi2 showed a much higher HYD selectivity (11.2%) than CoSi2 (3.4%) (Table 2), meaning NiSi2 is a very good hydrogenation catalyst. |
