Leading Expert in Chromatography – Chemicals Industry
Location: Shanghai

You will work in a leading multinational chemicals company. This company is active in the fields of coatings and Chemical specialties and has activities in over 79 countries. You will manage the chromatography team that consists of 2 people and execute projects and experiments on subjects using expertise clustered around Mass-, Liquid-, Gas chromatography techniques and Titration. The company offers you training opportunities, such as on-board orientation and long-term job coaching, leadership training based on your developing needs.

Your responsibilities
• Manage Chromatography team in executing projects for internal stakeholders within project planning, timelines, budget and quality standards
• Execute experiments using Mass-, Liquid-, Gas chromatography techniques and titration
• Build up and maintain good relationships with both internal stakeholders (Business Units, R&D groups, leadership) and external knowledge holders (universities, research institutes)
• Acquire new projects from Business Units to fill project pipeline of team
• Stimulate and initiate innovative research within and across expertise areas

Are you the one we are looking for?
• PhD (or Maser) degree in Physical or Analytical Chemistry. Other scientific background is accepted when having experience in Chromatography
• Expertise in Chromatography techniques is required
• Minimal 5 years (incl. PhD research time) of relevant working experience of which minimal 2 years industrial experience.
• Project management experience: ability to manage multiple and complex projects
• Excellent communication skills: able to motivate team and to be effective in initiating contacts
• People management experience is an advantage
• Good oral and written English and Chinese language skills
