急求Statement of Societal Impact是什么意思呢？

前天投稿后，收到编辑发来的e-mail，说缺少了Statement of Societal Impact文件，具体说明如下： On submission, authors are required to include a Statement of Societal Impact for their manuscript. In this statement authors are strongly encouraged to indicate clearly the novelty, significance and wider societal impact of the work reported in their article. 请问是什么意思呢？是像cover letter里一样写明这篇文章的创新、意义等内容么？急求！ |
