Opening for graduate assistantship at the University of Hawaii at Manoa

We are looking for up to two responsible and self-motivated graduate students (preferably PhD) who are interested in experimental research at the interface of engineering, physical chemistry, nanotechnology, medical sciences, and biophysics. The appointment starts in Fall 2013.
We offer an annual salary of $18,924 for a Master student and $20,466 for a PhD student. This salary should be sufficient to cover all living expenses in Honolulu. In addition, the student will receive a full tuition wavier together with our offer.
Founded in 1907, the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) is the flagship campus of the University of Hawaii System. The Carnegie Foundation classifies the UHM as a RU/VH (very high research activity) level research university. Our Laboratory of Biocolloids and Biointerfaces is currently supported by two NSF grants and private foundations. Selected students will work on our NSF supported projects described on the NSF website.

Although we are in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, our research is mainly on Physical Chemistry, specifically colloids and surfaces, monolayers, bio-nano interactions, and biophysics.
