The project will give a optimum  growth process to design relatively larger size and quality high  potassium niobate NCs and reveal the relationship among the crystal growth process - crystal components - defect structure and optical properties simultaneously ,thus providing  a theoretical basis for the development of new infrared nonlinear optical crystal, and is of great theoretical and practical significance.

This project will provide a set of method for the preparation of big size high quality potassim niobate single crystal and the optimal growth process parameters. In the mean time, the relation among the crystal growth process, the crystal composition and the defect structure will be revealed, and the theoretical evidence for the development of novel mid- and far-infrared non-linear optical crystals will be established, which will have great theoretical and practical values.
