Multiple RA positions in Power and Control available at NMSU The Smart Microgrid and Renewable Technology (SMRT) Research Lab at New Mexico State University has multiple research assistant positions starting fall 2013. Since 2011, we have received about $1.2 million research funding from NSF, ONR, DoD, and CEC. We are developing a state-of-the-art experimental platform for smart grid studies. The system will integrate the most recent technology and can realize power hardware-in-the-loop simulation. Once the system has been developed by the end of the year, the SMRT Lab will have one of the most advanced experimental platforms in universities. On average, we publish about 4 journal/transaction papers a year. My PhD students are all very productive and able to graduate within 3.5 years. Upon graduation, my PhD students usually have more than 4 papers published in IEEE Transactions. I care about my students’ career development and try my best to meet their expectations on me. If you have a master degree, good GPA, decent TOEFL/GRE scores, and are interested in doing PhD in power or control with me, please contact me.
