IPA 2013 - International Workshop on Image Processing and Applications

https://ccs.snnu.edu.cn/ IPA 2013 - International Workshop on Image Processing and Applications in conjunction with INCoS 2013, XI'AN, China, September 9 - 11, 2013 Introduction Vision allows humans to perceive and understand the world surrounding them, while computer vision aims to duplicate the effect of human vision by electronically perceiving and understanding an image. Giving computers the ability to see is not an easy task—we live in a three-dimensional world, and when computers try to analyze objects in 3D space, the visual sensors available(e.g., TV cameras) usually give two-dimensional images, and this projection to a lower number of dimensions incurs an enormous loss of information. To let computers see and understand the world better, the images must be processed. Specific topics of interest To address the aforementioned aspects of evolution of image processing theory, the preferred topics for this special session are (but not limited to): · Image/video coding and transmission: Still image and video coding, stereoscopic and 3-D coding, distributed source coding, source/channel coding, image/video transmission over wireless networks · Image/video processing: Image and video filtering, restoration and enhancement, image segmentation, video segmentation and tracking, morphological processing, stereoscopic and 3-D processing, feature extraction and analysis, interpolation and super-resolution, motion detection and estimation, color and multispectral processing, biometrics · Image formation: Biomedical imaging, remote sensing, geophysical and seismic imaging, optimal imaging, synthetic-natural hybrid image systems · Image scanning, display, and printing: Scanning and sampling, quantization and halftoning, color reproduction, image representation and rendering, display and printing systems, image quality assessment · Image/video storage, retrieval, and authentication: Image and video databases, image and video search and retrieval, multimodality image/video indexing and retrieval, authentication and watermarking · Applications: Biomedical sciences, mobile imaging, geosciences and remote sensing, astronomy and space exploration, document image processing and analysis, other applications Program Co-Chairs: •Xiaofeng CHEN, Xidian University, China •Shigang Liu, Shaanxi Normal University, China Program committee (tentative) •Xiaofeng Chen, Xidian University, China, •Shigang Liu, Shaanxi Normal University, China, •Lugang Zhao, Xidian University, China,•Jiancheng Sun, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, China, •Zengguo Sun, Huaqiao University, China, •Zhiyong Zeng, Fujian Normal University, China, •Chengwu Lu, Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences, China, •Zhang Gaoyu, Shanghai Finance University, China, Submission Submitted papers must be original and not submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors are invited to submit their 4 to 6 pages long manuscripts (with up to 5 keywords) following the IEEE 8.5 two-column format. You can find instructions to format the Proceedings Manuscript, at the following web page: https://www.computer.org/portal/site/cscps/. Full submission guidelines are available from INCoS 2013. To submit, you must follow the instructions, and select the CNT2013 workshop among the options. All papers will be peer reviewed by at least two or more independent referees of the CNT 2013 Workshop program committee and accepted on the basis of their scientific merit, originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Proceedings The INCoS 2013 proceedings will be published by IEEE Conference Publishing Service in the form of CD-ROM with ISBN, and will be accessible on-line. All accepted submissions including ESN workshop papers will be included in the proceedings of the conference. All accepted papers must be accompanied by a full paid registration by at least one of the authors in order to be included in the proceedings. All accepted papers can be fulfilled and published on the International Journal of Information and Communication Technology (EI Indexed).
