The 35th EC’s topic: What will you do for your parents in the New Year? Hostess: Ellen Summary: Shelley Last week we talked about The New Year’s resolution, we said a lot about ourseleves, but said nothing with our parents, so this week’s topic is: What will you do for your parents in the New Year? Penny: I will cook a meal for my mom, my mother likes fish, but I can’t do it, I only can cook eggs, so I will do this for my mom. (11 years old) Marry: Maybe a cake, my mom’s birthday is coming, and I will help mom to do housework, such as mopping the floor. John: My father is 87 years old, can’t handle his own, although he is not healthy enough, my mom is 81 years old, she help my father to deal with a lot of things. They said: This is the happiest time they have ever had. I will continue to take care of them, try my best to do things for them. Shelley: In the New Year, I want to let my parents live together, you know, my Mom helps me to take care of my baby last year, I felt it is not fair for my dad, I am a little selfish, but I have no choice, because I have to work, so 2013 is coming, let my parents take care of my baby, I can go home often. Others: Most people plan to do something for their parents or grandparents. I think it is a good topic to let more and more people think for their parents. |

| It's a good topic and the plans above have shaped the willings of us, as the children who loved too much by our dear parents. I cannot cook, and I'm still student now, so I will call more often home in the new year. For many years I phoned once a week to my parents, even once half a month earlier as an undergraduate student. They'r growing old which I cannot change or slow down. What I can do is just to give more concerns to them and dispel the loneliness around them. Besides, I will buy something useful for them. |
