[交流] 今天收到Scripta的拒稿信，编辑和审稿人的真实意思是什么？

今天收到编辑的拒稿信，如下：
Unfortunately, we are not able to consider it for publication. The main reasons for this are that the topic would be better suited as a full-length paper. As we receive many more manuscripts than we can publish we are forced to select those we believe will interest the broadest possible section of our readership and represent a significant breakthrough of general interest. While I find your work interesting, I see that the manuscript needs to be improved. In particular, an in depth analysis of the scientific results is missing.
审稿人的意见如下：
Reviewer report:
The work reported here, although dealing with materials and seemingly of good quality, essentially has the factual and descriptive character of an experimental report. It does not contain a discussion of the reported effects and, therefore, a scientific contribution on the relation between microstructure and properties of sufficient novelty. This reviewer encourages the author to work it out to a full-length paper and check carefully the literature (f.i. xxx) submit this manuscript to a journal more focused on the relevant technological issues where it should have a much better impact. This manuscript could be the base for a good and in-depth full-length story.
编辑和审稿人都建议该结果适合写长文，同时缺少实验结果的深入分析！我想问一下：如果我再深入分析一下实验结果，还可以往Scripta上投吗？如果换一个快报期刊可以吗？例如materials letters？还是干脆就扩展写长文那？快报对实验结果的深入分析要求高吗，如果深入分析比较高的话，那干嘛还发快报那，直接就发长文了？这是第一次投外文期刊！麻烦大牛给指点迷津！万分感谢！

看楼主的背景是材料力学，可能materials letter 也不太合适，你知道这个杂志现在基本全部偏向化学类期刊了，普通材料，尤其金属材料在上面很难发了。不难看出，编辑和审稿人都对你文章的新颖性很感兴趣，只是讨论部分有很大的欠缺，楼主不防深入抠一下内在的机理，投Acta materials 试试，毕竟他们都属于一个系列的，一般的研究都是先在scripta 上发个快报，再在acta 上来个机理分析，祝楼主好运！！
